1. What is AQSIQ?
AQSIQ stands for "General Administration of
Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine" in China. Its main function is to safeguard the imported cargos in
China, and ensure that imported wastes comply with the environmental protection standards and other mandatory
requirements regulations of China.
2. What will happen
if I don't have AQSIQ certificate?
Answer: Your cargo will be denied at the port
of entry.
3. How long will it
take for me to obtain an AQSIQ certificate?
Answer: Each year AQSIQ starts reviewing
applications in a preset month, and releases the list of qualified scrap suppliers a couple of times in the
following months. Although there is no deadline set by AQSIQ for documents submission, we strongly encourage our
clients have the preparation work started as early as possible.
4. Do I need to renew
my certificate every year?
Answer: The certificate is valid for three
years. Renew it at the end of the third year.
